Kindergarten Explorations
Meet our Explorers!
Our 2025–2026 Explorers Program is designed for curious kindergarteners who love to learn through hands-on discovery. Using seasonal themes, we create playful, engaging experiences that naturally weave together reading, math, science, art, and more. Each day is filled with language-rich, multi-sensory activities that help children grow their thinking, build confidence, and explore the world around them. As Explorers, children are encouraged to ask questions, try new things, and develop a strong foundation for future learning—all while having fun.

Mixed Methods Approach to Core Academic Learning.
Learning occurs in three different ways: behavioral learning (drill and practice), cognitive learning ( gaining knowledge through thought and meaning) and constructivist learning (applying old knowledge to discover new knowledge and skills)
Behavioral learning or rote learning is essential to master handwriting, math facts, counting and cardinality, geographical facts and historical dates, phonics spelling rules, grammar, and reading fluency.
Cognitive learning Cognitive learning at Heartwise involves oral and written communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Scholars develop skills through questioning, discussion, reading comprehension, math reasoning, and inquiry-based science. Historical analysis fosters a deeper understanding of artifacts and world changes over time.
Constructivist learning builds confidence, creativity, and identity. Written response, reflection, artistic expression, research, probability and statistics, journaling, STEM activities, and Legos are all examples of constructivist learning. They take the information they know or have learned to formulate their own knowledge of the subject.
